How many URLs are submitted under PFI
Search Engines charge for each URL you submit for indexing. They have a sliding scale fee structure, where they charge lesser per URL, more URLs you submit. Under standard PFI, we only submit home page for express submission. However you may indicate if you want to submit several URLs for extra charge. The Search Engines index the rest of your website in their standard indexing cycle of 4 to 12 weeks.
All Search Engines are in the quest of offering quality and extensive to their users. It is in their interest to crawl as many URLS as they can. Some new Search Engines index your site by detecting links to your website from other sites.
PFI does not guarantee any rankings. The benefit of PFI is that your URL would be picked up and re-crawled frequently.
Thumb rule is that if your site has various pages where content changes frequently, PFI is the way to go.
What does the PFI service charges include?
The PFI service charges include the following:
- Taking care of error free paid submissions
- Identifying appropriate categories for submission of your site
- Proper narration of your site in a directory
- Processing Payments
The indexing is subject to the terms and conditions of Search Engines. When we take PFI for you, you are bound by the prevailing terms and conditions of that Search Engines/ Directory.
Why do you not submit to Yahoo?
Yahoo for some reason forces renewal of the Paid Submission to the credit card after every one-year. It does not seek a pre-consent before renewing the paid submission for another year.
If we do the submission on behalf of our client and due to some reason the client does not wish to renew the subscription, Yahoo would still continue to charge our credit card for the subsequent years. We want to avoid the locking of our credit card due to this reason.
However, in order to assist in submission we hand-hold our clients through the process of how to do proper submission to Yahoo Directory. |
